golden dragon

yeah....back once again with a brand new food...hehe (hope marsha will drool at the sight of these )

okay, so this dish is called the golden dragon, if im not mistaken, and yeah like all other sushi it consist of rice, but instead of just being neatly wrapped up in seaweed, it was wrapped up with mangoes....=) those yellow top was the freshly sliced and arranged mangoes, to give a more delicious and delicate texture to the sushi. oppss...sorry, but i cant really remember the inside of the sushi, but anyway, i remember there's some fried prawn and cucumber in it, if i didnt remembered correctly, and last but not least the presentation of the food is just superb, with prawn head and tail...=) it was overall a good delicacies and i even called for a second plate. =)

and the next dish, the one in cubic shape, is the fried-beancurd- with-chilly that i ate at Thai Express, Paragon. =) the beancurd is soft and in addition to the thick spicy sauce, it will be even more delicious if you eat it with rice....=) white rice in particular so that you can have the whole thick taste of it....be ready to get your tongue burnt by it's spiciness which i bet will be worth it even to the tip of your throat....=)

feel hot? haha coconut jelly is the BEST!!!

Yeah people this is the coconut jelly that my aunt bought from God knows where, hehe because she didnt tell me where she bought it. however, that particular information could be updated later, anyway, this coconut jelly is so refreshing for sure in a way that it is sweet and chewy. best to serve t cold. yeah, and this is also the first time i ate it, but it is so nice that i care for the next round. basically it is stored in a coconut sheel like the picture at the bottom. and than, unlike the coconut drink that we normally drink in Indonesia, where the coconut pulp ( is it?) is like floating in the shell, because some of it was already being carved out by the chef. or like normal coconut drink where the meat of the coconut is at the side, this one, the coconut is in the form of jelly, like the picture at the top. and to eat it, with family, hehe you just have to mix with cold water and ice so as to make it even more cool and refreshing to be eaten. and ya, yang pasti enak deh...hehe should try it when u have the chance. ( apa lagi si marcia ) hehe lo pasti suka deh...=9

Taste of the 'Dragon'

Once again i bring to you our chinese favourite from Shanghai. This cute-creatively bun is called 'Xiao Long Bao' you can find this in any chinese restaurant, but the most famously known for this particular cuisine is at 'Crystal Jade' Restaurant at Takashimaya level5, or even at Toa Payoh Central, if i am not mistaken...as the restaurant has many branch, take note that u have to go to the crystal jade kitchen/ la mien to try this on.

this is my most favourite chinese food...i can eat 10 or more of it...it contains pork meat inside with salted soup. therefore, as this food is kind of unique hehe, be careful as u take ur first bite. Bite a little hole on its smooth skin first, and slowly suck the hot soup inside/ slowly pour it into ur spoon. BE CAREFUL IT CAN SCALD UR TONGUE!!! and to add more yummy taste to it, hehe best is to dip it with vinegar...the best combination...everytime i eat this, i feel like taking for another one...hehe so, hope u enjoy it too...

*you can also try on the one at Nanxiang restaurant. it was filled with pieces of crab meat, which make it even more luxurious....hahaha

Sweet treats =9

Once again, welcoming the sweet treats from Takashimaya bakeries. The cheese cake on the left, really gives one the taste of heaven =9. my sister bought it at the Rive bakery at Takashimaya Basement 2 level, at the food court area. the texture of the cheese cake was just so moist and creamy-cheesy at the same time that it made me care to have another bite!!!! =9 besides that, the price was not so hair raising either. =) for the cheese cake i rate it as 9/10.
there are still other cheesecake available at the other bakeries like Bread Talk, St Leaven, and Bakerzins. oh btw, bakerzins oreo cheese cake is marvelous. =9
On the other hand, the chocolate classic on the right is undefeatable too....with its layers of chocolate texture, and melted chocolate on the top, it really is delicious. though perhaps not as yummy as the cheese cake. But it is still worth a try...and this chocolate cake i bought at the St Leaven's bakery. Other nice chocolate cakes to try on, will be "The Coffee Beans" thousand layers cake and of course not forgetting the chicago cheesecake as well...=9
wuhhh with all these heavenly delicacies in store, are you sure you want to slim down people? lol lol lol....so u know what, my advise: " pss...eat all while you can...and exercise it all later...so long as you watch your diet, a piece of cake is okay..." hahahaha XD
arghhh.....eating is just the best thing in life and that's why just like the blog title, we only live to eat.....lol lol lol =D EATING ROX!!!! ergghhhh....=)
ohh before i left, the strawberry shortcake at Rive bakery or Daimaru is also nice, thus quickly made a reservation for your next birthday cake/ valentine's/ Anniversaries/ Relative's birthday/ boyfriend's/ girlfriend's birthday whatever that got to do with cake A.S.A.P ( as soon as possible) while stock last!!!!! =)
take care and God bless...muach

sweet delicacies

yep yep yep this is one of asia's sweet delicacies. it is a glutinious rice with peanuts sprinkled on top of it. this dessert i ate just a few days ago with my family at Tung Lok Restaurant, at Clarke Quay, central.
it is very very nice. just like the image of it lol
it's soft texture and yummy filling of the black sesame (and the taste of the chinese tea as the company ) really makes one feels like "home."
get ready to be mesmerised by the soft texture as it melts in your tongue hehe

Tropical

What could be better than drinking coconut from the its shell directly on a beach? One of the best thing to live in a tropical country is that you can drink fresh coconut every single day if you wish to. It really made my day, the juice is sweet and refreshing and the flesh is yummy. I don't really know how to describe, so you have to go and try it out yourself. ^_^

Japan ---experience!!!

Ok, this is what I ate on Sunday. This is Sushi-Tei in Senayan City. The first picture is just an assortment of sashimi slice and the second picture is an otoro. For those of you who does not know what an otoro is, it is the best and fattiest part of tuna, and it is the most expensive one. Some might like it, some may not. Like my mum, she dislike it because it is too soft. Well, it's all fat! What can you expect. Anyway, I like it a lot. Not the best quality, but just enough to experience what an otoro is. When I put the slice in my mouth, it sort of 'melts' and I can really feel all the fat tingling in my tounge. I'd love to try it again, but *ahem* it will definitely 'melt' my wallet too. Then the third picture is hiyashi chuka. It is just a cold noodle with all sorts of topping, but it was not as good as the one I had in 'Sakana' (the next time I go there, I'll give a full review). Overall, it was a really nice dinner, but the one that made my day is definitely the otoro.

Homemade Sandwich

This is what I made during my holiday in Jan 2008. It is made out of baguette or it claimed to be (but it's different from the real baguette I had in the UK). Then the beef meat is premium grade which I bbq-ed. Then I have fresh cucumber slice and lettuce which can't really be seen in the picture. The red bellpepper and onion I bbq-ed it too. This is what's different. The sauce >> it's made from that Kraft brand, but I mixed it with honey and a little bit of sesame oil and sesame seed. When the meat was bbq-ed, I marinated it for a while in the sauce. Voila! It was super big and hard to eat but it was all delicious!!!

home-made cheese cake (attention to marcia!!! ) lol

yep yep yep!!! this is one of my own home made cheese cake...lol found the recipe at the internet. so sorry everyone if i sound bias here. =p well, it is a simple procedures basically so maybe anyone would like to try. *just remember to freeze it before you serve so as to get that moist texture of cheesecake. however, hehe it is delicious and it really pay the hardwork i done during the making. =) it consist of biscuit crumbs (for the base ) cream cheese, butter, eggs and vanilla extract. Then after the baking and cooling, you can reward yourself with this easy yet superlicious cake with a cup of well brewed cuppa of tea. so..hope u enjoy it. Chirashizushi

Ate this in London's chinatown, still in Leicester Square. It cost me T_T but considering I really wanted to eat it I guess that's alright. But if I have to rate it, the ingredients was not the best of its freshnest, but it is still considerable. The rice was perfect it's sticky and chewy with the sakura denbu (sweet pink fish powder) on top of the rice and a bit of aonori (a type of seaweed that is in powdered form, like the one they put on top of takoyaki). I guess this should deserve around 6/10

Daifuku mochi

It's tasty and chewy and soft and round and................... Well, I might be a bit bias but you have to admit that daifuku mochi is soooo..... yummy. But the only problem is it is so damn expensive. T_T 1 quid for each, bought it when I went to a chinese supermarket down in Leicester Square in London. Oh well, but I love it!

Brand New Experience

Introducing you an Italian Cuisine called Ferrmagio. It is a broquessta with goat's cheese and truffle sauce. I ate this at Al Nonna's Restaurant In Holland Village, Singapore.
It is a challenging and brand new experiencing food for me the moment i read it's description in the menu, i was curious about how goat cheese would be; and decided to taste it. Honestly, it was a wonderful taste though the goat's cheese smell was kinda strong. ( and it can be a little disturbing is one dislike the smell of lamb-chop )But i really hope you would take a try as it is kind of a unique dish. It's base the broquessta, however, is like garlic bread base (just that instead of putting on the garlic, it is the goat's chese and truffle sauce on top. )
Hope you will be able to try it for yourself too and bedazzled by its "challenging" taste of a whole new experience. =p
5 or 6/10

yellow hellow

there's nothing better to fill your empty stomach with an egg tart. yep i know this is not something very special, but this unique shape egg tart, with its soft-moist texture of egg yolk and it's toasted bread-crumb like structure of its base will definitely give one a delightful feeling as one eat it with tea; while chatting away with friends.

* you can always try Crystal Jade or Bread Talk's egg tarts if you ever want it for more.

Big Lunch

Look at what I have for lunch today! Too bad I cannot really remember what was the meat but it tasted a bit like pork and chicken. It was roasted with honey.... yummy! The rest is just as usual, potatoes, beans and saute cabbage. I can barely finished it. But it certainly was one of the best meal I have had so far since I came to the UK.

Fruit Cake

"Eat me, eat me!" That was what it seemed to say when I was looking for lunch ---the mouth watering cake for dessert.

The cake is composed of 3 layers, which whip cream is on top with a bit of chocolate shavings with a little (really sweet) cherry for decoration. While the second layer is made from custard and peach. It really is a waste that they used canned peach, because the sweetness overpowers the custard and pretty much the rest. And the last layer is a sticky sponge cake mixed with jelly. When I was eating it, there was a hint of banana taste, but the 'physical' fruit is not visible. So I assume they use some sort of flavouring, syrup maybe?

With this kind of cake, you have to eat it the whole 3 layer at once. Since the sweet peach will take away the sweetness from the other layers, making it tasteless. I will give it a 6/10 because although it looks soooo colourful and appealing, the taste was not as I expected.

Lasting Lemon Tart

Yummy! At first glance, this simple looking lemon tart sat on the 'Sweet Box' counter at my university refectory; I was wondering of having this or yogurt for my dessert. In the end, I could not resist it.

It is a simple lemon tart with a scoop of butter ( I think) and some sprinkled powdered sugar on top. The first bite really amazed me, the taste sour of lemon was almost none and the the crust was somehow in between dry and sticky.

In my opinion, the best way to eat this, is to spread the butter on top of it and savour. Let the cold butter melts in the mouth and you can feel the lemon at the back of your throat. For this reason, I give it 7/10
